HM DOCKYARD

This is still a working naval base and although the British Navy has been greatly reduced over
the past 25 years, there are always naval ships to see. The Dockyard is vast and the many
buildings which are past on the way to the Victory show the town within a town inside the Yard,
which had its own police force, fire department, church and elegant housing for the Officers of
the massive workforce employed there in the past.

Flagship Portsmouth and the Historic Dockyard give you the chance to view three of the finest
Historic Battleships. HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose and the wonderful Royal
Naval Museum housed in the building Near the Victory.
